The Architecture of Artificial General Intelligence Governance

As we approach the possibility of AGI, our governance frameworks remain rooted in narrow AI assumptions. This paper proposes a new constitutional framework for superintelligent systems.

As we approach the possibility of AGI, our governance frameworks remain rooted in narrow AI assumptions. This paper proposes a new constitutional framework for superintelligent systems.

The Challenge

Current AI governance models are built for narrow, specialized systems. AGI demands fundamentally different approaches.

A New Framework

This article explores three pillars of AGI governance:

  1. Constitutional Constraints - Embedding values at the architectural level
  2. Distributed Oversight - Multi-stakeholder governance mechanisms
  3. Adaptive Regulation - Frameworks that evolve with capability

Conclusion

The path to safe AGI requires rethinking governance from first principles.
